Eyeglasses Adjustment

Missing nose pad? Loose screw? Bent frame? Lens popped out? Chances are very good we can fix it while you wait! This is a free service offered to one and all. No matter how perfectly your glasses fit when you pick them up, they will need re-adjustment… eventually. When they do, contact the office for an appointment with the optician, we’ll straighten and clean your glasses in a jiffy – no charge!

Frame Selection

Time for a new pair of eyeglasses? We have more than 1,000 frames in our office! Work side-by-side with our experienced opticians to choose a frame that is both functional and fashionable. In most cases, we will order a new frame for you – your new eyeglasses frame will only have ever been worn by you! A “frame selection” appointment covers new complete pair(s) of prescription eyeglasses, non-prescription sunglasses, or just a new pair of lenses. Basically, anything & everything with the optician that is not an adjustment, repair, or delivery.

Contact Lens Instruction

Our opticians have years of experience instructing patients about proper hygiene, insertion, removal, and storage of contact lenses. We also have the capability to clean & polish Rigid Gas Permeable contact lenses.

Visioffice™

Specialty equipment made by Essilor – the world leader in lens technology. This device measures all the parameters needed to fit almost any lens into almost any frame – within 0.10 mm. This is especially beneficial for progressive lenses. It’s quick, easy, and free! Once you chose a frame, the optician fits a special clip to your new frame, you place the frame on your face, and the device images your face with the frame… voila! Perfect fit every time. NOTE… this does not archive an image of your face; in fact, it saves nothing – the optician reads the data off the screen and enters it into your optical order.

In-Office Finishing

Love the frame you have? No problem! We can replace just the lenses, provided the frame is in usable condition. Our lab is equipped with a lens edger – a machine that custom cuts ophthalmic lenses. This service is not offered by most private offices, nor most retail businesses. We receive “uncut” lenses from the lab and make your eyeglasses in-house. The advantage to you, the patient, is that when you need new lenses edged for your existing frame, instead of going without your eyeglasses for upwards of two weeks while they’re away at the lab, you can hold onto them while the lenses are made at the lab. Once we receive uncut lenses, you’ll come back to the office and go without your eyeglasses for less than an hour.

An “Edge While You Wait” appointment takes 30-45 minutes. The two most frequent scenarios for an Edge While You Wait… your prescription has changed, and you need new lenses, but love the frame you have; or you’ve scratched a lens and need to get it replaced. Be sure to speak with the optician about lens warranties! Many lenses come with a one- or two-year free-replacement warranty.
